Barem Ambalaj Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. 1999 yılında İzmir’in Tire ilçesinde küçük bir atölyede çalışmalara başlamış, ve daha sonra %100 yerli sermaye ile İzmir, Karaman ve Gaziantep fabrikalarıyla tüm Türkiye’ye yayılarak hizmet vermeye başlamıştır.

Barem Ambalaj ofset baskılı karton ve laminasyonlu kutu ambalajın kullanıldığı her sektörde bulunuyor. Gıda, elektrik-elektronik, küçük ev aletleri hizmet verdiği sektörler olarak sayılabilir.

Firma toplam cironun %25’ini birçok dünya ülkesine yaparken, her geçen gün ihracat kapasitesini arttırmayı hedeflemektedir.Firmanın Gaziantep’teki üretiminin de %30’unu ihracat oluşturuyor. Barem Ambalaj Irak'ın en büyük gıda ambalaj ve tarım sektörü fuarında bulunuyor. Barem Ambalaj, bugün 17 ülkeye gururla ihracat yapmakta.

Yeni baskı makineleri hem ebat olarak daha büyük hem de teknoloji olarak daha ileri olduğu için oluklu ve sıvamayı in-line yapabilecek yeni makine mevcut. Hattı tamamlayacak başka makinelerle birlikte, şirket kapasitesinin minimum iki katına çıkacağı biliniyor.

Gün geçtikçe büyük bir oranla büyüyen ambalaj sektörü, Türkiye’nin en önemli sanayi kollarından birisi olarak sayılıyor. Her büyüyen ülke gibi, gelişmişlik ve refah seviyesi arttıkça kullanılan ambalaj oranları da artıyor. Kayıt dışı üretimin engellenmesi ve eski teknolojilerin ülkeye girişini durdurmak da ambalaj sektörünün Türkiye’de önemli sanayi kolu haline getirebilir.
